General guidelines for users

  • The samples can be given either in person or by post/ courier in proper storage conditions (dry ice).
  • A link will be provided for downloading the raw data while the results are generated. Data files that are generated will be stored till three months. After three months the files will be deleted automatically.
  • Minimum of 10 samples should be sent for availing the GC-MS or LC-MS or UPLC services that are offered otherwise stated.
  • For all the services samples will not be returned after their extraction or processing.
  • It is the responsibility of the user to check the quality of their samples prior to submission. The facility will not bear any responsibility for the damage or degradation of the samples during transport, harvest, or extraction.
  • The user should contact the facility before submitting the samples. The analysis once done will not be repeated for any samples.
  • The user should bear the cost of the service provided even in case of any unforeseen circumstances (e.g. degraded samples, lesser sample quantity, purity of the sample).
  • The facility will not be responsible for any subsequent analysis, interpretation, and publication from the data acquired.
  • For metabolite analysis, the sample should be given in frozen form (dry ice shipping) of intact tissue (preferable) or in powder form (dry ice) or lyophilised sample. The sample should not get thawed during shipping. Please contact the facility before sending the samples.
  • Services Quantity required/sample
    Carotenoid analysis 200 mg
    Primary metabolites 200 mg
    Volatile analysis 2 gm
    Phytohormones 200 mg

  • For Proteomic analysis, samples containing gel pieces (protein spots) should be sent in micro centrifuge tubes immersed in 1% to 5% acetic acid by maintaining proper storage conditions through post or courier. Gel images should be uploaded along with the sample submission form. Make sure that the gels are freshly made.
  • In-solution protein samples should be sent in dry ice. We will not be responsible for poor results that arise due to improper storage that may lead to protein degradation.
  • For shotgun proteomics, proteins with high quality are required. A minimum of 100 µg of protein (estimated by user) in dried form (lyophilised or concentrated through speed vac) should be provided.
  • For comparative proteomics, the protein quantity between two sets of samples should be the same (in dried form) and a minimum of 100 µg of protein (estimated by the user in dried form either lyophilised or concentrated through speed vac) is required.
  • Silver-stained gels have compatibility issues with MS. Hence not accepted for MS analysis.
  • It's mandatory and the responsibility of the user to acknowledge the facility (DBT SAHAJ: No. BT/INF/22/SP44787/2021) in their scientific achievements like presentations and publications and inform the facility about the same.
  • All the payments should be made in advance before using the service. Payment details will be provided through email after successful submission of the service request.
  • In case of any issues please contact the facility.
